During the month of June, the majority of our sturgeon fishing takes place on the Lower Columbia River, near Astoria. We are typically fishing water from 5' to 25' in depth. What a rush to hook a fish with this much strength in shallow water. This Columbia River season closes for keepers the end of June.
When keeper season closes on the Columbia, we move our operation to the Umpqua River near Reedsport. The Umpqua is open year round for legal size sturgeon. July, on this river, is usually the most productive time to fish for these prehistoric monsters.
Sturgeon are an amazing fish, get hooked up with one, and you will get the fight of your life. We are fishing out of a 25' sled which will accommodate up to six people and allows plenty of room to fight a fish!
